Workwise: Information for Employers and Organisations

What is Workwise?

Workwise offers two 4-week travel passes free and a third pass at half price, to help new job starters get to their place of work.

Your employees and clients could benefit from Workwise if they’re:

  • starting, or have just started, a new job earning £30,000 a year or less
  • increasing their hours to 16 or more per week in a job they already have
  • not getting help with the cost of a travel pass

They can also apply for Workwise if they’ve been getting unemployment benefit. If they have, they can apply even if their salary is more than £30,000 a year.

The discount they get depends on how they travel.

How you can support

You can help promote Workwise to your organisation by becoming a Workwise referral partner. The partnership is free. You can become a referral partner if you’re:

  • an employer
  • an organisation that supports jobseekers
  • a job coach

Workwise could help your staff get cheaper travel to work, which could lead to increased staff retention and help towards your organisation’s environment goals. We are also able to give free support in getting Workwise added to your induction process.

Referral partners could get:

  • promotional materials such as posters and leaflets advertising Workwise
  • travel support updates which can be passed onto staff
  • support for your careers fairs and staff events
  • information on events and networking opportunities
  • support in getting Workwise added to your induction process

You only need to sign post your staff to Workwise – we will take care of the rest and manage the application process.
